Dr. Nandakumar Kute (b. 1964) obtained B. Sc. (Ag.) from Dr. PDKV, Akola with distinction, M. Sc. (Ag.) and Ph. D. in Cytogenetics and Plant Breeding from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri with first class and distinction, respectively. He has 25 years of research and teaching experience in various capacities. He is associated in the development of four crop varieties in Mungbean (Vaibhav), Pigeonpea (Vipula), Chickpea (Digvijay) and Grain Amaranthus (Phule Kartiki). He guided eight M.Sc.
